Sterling silver Handmade Roman Empire Eagle SPQR style men’s ring. There is a very detailed and intricately designed frame which makes the ring an extremely rare and attractive piece. The face of the piece is crafted with the Roman Eagle with the letters SPQR. This symbol is the Vexilloid of the Roman Empire. “Vexilloid” is a term used to describe vexillary (flag-like) objects used by countries, organizations, or individuals as a form of representation other than flags. The vexillum of the Roman Empire emblazoned with S•P•Q•R (senātus Populus Que Rōmānus), “senate and people of Rome”. The two symbols, a skull with a helmet over two crossed-together swords on both sides of the piece represent one of the most prevalent and ancient emblems of the Roman Empire.
