925 sterling silver handmade Egyptian Empire sacred scarab style men’s ring. There is a very detailed and intricately designed frame that makes the ring an extremely rare and attractive piece. The face of the piece is crafted with the scarabaeus sacer. The scarab that appears most often in Egyptian works of art is a simple dung beetle known as Scarabaeus sacer, or the large sacred scarab. The scarab’s best-known legacy involves rolling balls of dung in the earth and then depositing them into the family mound for use as an egg incubator. On both sides of the ring is one of the most emblematic Egyptian symbol, which is the ankh. The ankh represented life and is the most well-known symbol to come out of ancient Egypt. In its hieroglyphic system of writing the ankh represents the concept of eternal life. The gods are often seen holding an ankh to someone’s lips this is considered to be an offering of “The Breath of Life”. The breath you will need in the afterlife.
