925 sterling silver handmade Saint Francis of Assisi men’s ring. There is a very detailed and intricately designed frame that makes the ring an extremely rare and attractive piece. The face of the ring is crafted with the St. Francis of Assisi portrait who was an Italian Catholic friar, deacon and preacher. He later became associated with patronage of animals and the natural environment. In 1224 he received the stigmata on his wrists and bear the wounds of Christ’s Passion. On both sides of the ring, there is a symbol of two hands with wounds on the wrists. In Christianity “Stigmata” are the appearance of bodily wounds, scars, and pain in locations corresponding to the crucifixion wounds of Jesus Christ, such as the hands, wrists, and feet. Stigmata are primarily associated with Roman Catholicism. St. Francis of Assisi was the first recorded stigmatic.
